BRAH Electric would like to reveal to the power distribution market the all new Universal Bus Plug. This new plug offers product features not currently found in any other manufacturer of bus plug systems today. The new features include the integration of a wireless power monitor, a newly designed 3 phase switch with patented technology and a modular rear assembly that allows the bus plug to be configured for up to 10 OEM busway systems.
For the wireless power monitor known as BRAH Logic we have developed a fully customizable cloud based software application that will report all of the critical power data and risk assessments. The software is capable of setting alarms to avoid outages locate hot spots for fire prevention and look at power trends which will all ultimately support savings on the bottom line. The wireless communication is also highly secure and does not use standard Wifi, Bluetooth or Zigbee.
For the all-new 3 phase Floating Contact Switch. We have engineered a more reliable, longer lasting and safer contact interface. This is one of the most critical parts of the bus plug as it is responsible for power efficiency as well as a majority of failures seen in the field. Our patented floating contact design provides high repeatability on the surface area contact from one contact surface to another. The design is such that the base contact is fixed and the mating movable contact is compliant such that it will allow for minor misalignments and will self-guide to the optimal position. As a result this creates a cooler interface and reduces the potential for arcing and pitting. The floating contact has been proven to increase product life as well as improve efficiency and risk of failure.
For the modularity of the universal bus plug we have design an interface which has allowed us to build adapter kits and reconfigure the main unit to fit different OEM duct. These interfaces are test to the UL857 standard and are a critical part of the reliability for the final product. Regardless of the type of busway the BRAH bus plug remains identical with the exception of the stab configuration and hangers. This provides reassurance that the overall reliability and function will remain constant.
We hope that the new Universal Bus plug will serve the industrial market in a way that will support current up and running factories which are using older or possibly obsolete busway systems. Most operation factories do not have the time nor funding to replace all of their overhead busway. In addition the refurbish market can be risky with no metric on how the product was refurbished and with limited testing. Providing a new improved direct replacement solution to the market will help the end user save cost, time and reduce risk for their current establishment.
